With some very low temperatures in early January, this has been a tough year for Ficus trees. We recommend pruning out all dead limbs and foliage before the new growth occurs in late February to April.
Sustainability is an important aspect of business at Living Tree Service. In the picture above, you can see our contribution to a local urban farming project. We regularly provide free mulch to community projects and private individuals. Depending on how long the mulch has been in the back of the truck and how hot the temperature is, the mulch will often be already partially composted. On this particular day, steam could be seen rolling off of the mulch, showing that microbes are already hard at work in digesting it.
“We recycle about 95% of all tree waste. About the only thing that we’re not able to recycle right now is a palm tree that we’ve removed. Everything else can be chipped, mulched, composted, or used as fire wood.” -Dan Stevens, owner of Living Tree Service.
